Article #5: "Looks matter! Don't give a bad first impression"

Are eBooks dead? This myth has been rolling around cyberspace business circles off
and on since the beginning of eBooks. Ebooks are far from dead. Why? You aren't
selling the format of the eBook, but instead selling the content that the eBook
contains. And content never goes out of style. People are always eager for
content. In fact, most people are content junkies.

Ebooks go far beyond just text information. You can integrate audio and video
components into your eBook. The eBook is a packaging tool that presents your
valuable information to your customers. Customers are always on the look out for
this information so eBooks will have a long life.

How much detail should you have when it comes to packaging your products? For
example, how pretty should your eBook be? Should you just slap some information
into an eBook and put it up for sale right away? No, don't just slap together
information. You should take your time to create an amazing presentation of your
product. You want your customer to be wowed when they open the product. For
example, they may have paid $200 for a product, but are so impressed with the
product packaging that they think it looks like a $500 product.

Exquisite packaging is critical because it is the first impression your customer has
of you and your product. You want to present yourself in the best light. You
wouldn't sell face to face with dirt all over your body so the same applies to your
product. Make sure your product is the best it can be and with the highest quality
of packaging.

Package your products in the same manner that brick and mortar stores package their
product. Use shrink wrap and professional quality printing. Don't have spelling
mistakes. All of these mistakes will plummet the perceived quality of the product.
This will be to your detriment and turn away future purchases.

Tip: Any mistakes in the product presentation will prompt people to assume that
your product stinks because you didn't take the time to make it perfect.
